Apple is in the early stages of developing a 1991 TV reboot Prince of the Tidesaccording to The Hollywood Reporter.
The report notes that Tate Taylor (Help) is going to write a screenplay for a television drama that has reportedly started to be told by various talents from a list of the best before production begins later this summer. No official details of the plot or ideas on how the reboot will take place have yet been discussed, so it is still relatively unknown.
Prince of the Tides Originally released in 1991, it starred Nick Nolte and Barbara Streisand, and Streisand also directed the film and acted as a producer. The film is a film adaptation of the 1986 novel of the same name, written by Pat Conroy, who also wrote the screenplay for the film.
At the time of viewing, the film was highly praised by both critics and fans. The film will have relative box office success and will be nominated for various awards with seven Oscar nominations – including Best Picture – although the film has not won a single win.
“A New York psychiatrist who treats a woman with emotional scars finds it helpful to discuss the troubled history of her family in South Carolina with the woman’s twin brother,” the novel’s official synopsis said. “He and the psychiatrist are brought together by an equally turbulent past, and they form a union that ultimately leads to a romance.”
