The release of the vivo X80 series in India is scheduled for May 18

The Vivo X80 series was introduced last month in China began its global spread a couple of days ago, starting with Malaysia, and its next stop will be India, as today the Indian branch of vivo announced that the X80 series will debut in India on May 18 at noon local time.

The vivo X80 series includes three models – X80, X80 Proand X80 Pro +. However, the Pro + version has not yet been released and it will only appear in the third quarter of 2022, so it will not be launched in India next Wednesday. What’s more, vivo India has only clearly confirmed the X80 Pro, but the use of the word “series” in its advertising campaign largely confirms that the company will also launch the X80 in India on May 18th.

vivo has not yet revealed Indian prices for the X80 and X80 Pro, but the company says the smartphones will be sold exclusively through Flipkart. Although you can also expect them to be available for purchase through the official Indian website vivo and retail stores across the country.

Another bit confirmed by vivo is the X80 Pro processor. The smartphone was announced with two chipsets – Dimensity 9000 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. And it is the latter that will feed the Indian unitswhich is hardly a surprise, as the Malaysian model also has Qualcomm’s flagship silicon behind the wheel, while the Dimensity 9000 variant still remains exclusive to China.

The Vanilla X80, on the other hand, comes with a Dimensity 9000 SoC regardless of region. However, while the Chinese versions of the X80 and X80 Pro are based on OriginOS Ocean based on Android 12, their global counterparts are downloading FuntouchOS 12.
