(Reuters) – Said Elon Musk on Tuesday Twitter Inc (NYSE 🙂 will always be free for casual users, but may charge a small fee to commercial and government users as the billionaire entrepreneur tries to increase the reach of social networking platforms from a “niche” to most Americans.

Twitter did not immediately respond to a Reuters request for comment.
The head of Tesla (NASDAQ 🙂 Musk has been proposing a number of changes to Twitter since last month. Adding the campaign to his cart recently, Musk said he wants to improve the platform with new features by making open source algorithms to boost trust, defeat spam bots and authenticate everyone.
Last month, even before the deal with Twitter, Musk proposed several changes to the premium subscription service Twitter Blue, including lowering its cost.
At the annual Met Gala in New York on Monday, Musk said he would make Twitter transparent about how tweets move or go down, and wanted his software to be publicly available to critics.
