Ana will play for Team Liquid at Riyadh Masters 2022

It’s time to see your favorite carry in Dota 2 action once again. According to the official team lists for the upcoming Riyadh Masters 2022 tournament, former two-time winner of The International (TI) Anathan “ana” Pham will play for Team Liquid in this tournament. Ana will replace Lasse Aucusti “MATUMBAMANUrpalainen, who will not be able to attend the event.

Riyadh Masters 2022 will be held from July 20 to 24 with a whopping $4 million prize pool to be split between 10 teams.

Ana will replace MATUMBAMAN in Team Liquid at Riyadh Masters 2022

Team Liquid, who qualified for the Riyadh Masters through the Gamers Without Borders 2022 event in May, will not be attending the event with their full roster due to the absence of MATUMBAMAN. However, retired Dota 2 player Ana, who has a huge fan base, will be seen testing his Dota 2 skills once again, this time for Team Liquid.

Ana will appear in professional Dota 2 for the first time after him retirement in June 2021. Since then, the player has been playing Dota 2 pubs in patches. There were also rumors at various times last year that he would retire and join Invictus Gaming and T1, but nothing materialized.

In a June 19 tweet, Ana asked the Twitter community to vote on his potential next venture, which included live streaming, gaming merchandise, and more. The most votes were cast in favor of live streaming, which means that a gamer who prefers to keep things low-key can start live streaming soon.

However, for now, Ana will focus her efforts on playing as Team Liquid’s understudy. It will be interesting to see how well he stays in shape. A great series to look out for in the Riyadh Masters Group Stage will be Team Liquid vs. OG as Ana will face off against her previous team.

While Ana previously took many breaks from competitive Dota 2 before eventually returning to professional play, it is currently unknown if playing for Liquid as a backup represents a step in that direction. Officially stepping down last year looked like a solid choice, but his ways are often unpredictable and it wouldn’t be surprising to see him pop up again in the coming months.

Ana and Team Liquid’s first series at Riyadh Masters 2022 will be against Royal Never Give Up on July 20.
