A student and two adults were injured near the street Ohio school football game after the suspects fired at least 12 shots.

Students and fans were enjoying the Toledo Central Catholic vs. Whitmer High School football game when shots rang out late in the fourth quarter around 9:30 p.m.

Dramatic video shows fans jumping over the railings of the stands for cover, while others stomp through the metal benches. Some were seen crouching on the ground, covering their children as the band raced across the field.

The shooting took place behind the stadium, near the field house.

No one was taken into custody, Sergeant Bortel told DailyMail.com on Saturday afternoon.

Mayor Wade Kapschukiewicz said surveillance footage helped identify potential suspects.

The Whitmer student and two adults, two women and one man, were taken to the hospital, but their names have not been released.

DailyMial.com has reached out to the Toledo Police Department for comment.

The Washington Local School District said no one in the crowd was injured and everyone was screened before entering Whitmer Memorial Stadium.

Kapshukevich said that “a total of 16 law enforcement officers worked” off-duty and were able to ensure everyone’s safety.

“We still don’t know much about last night’s events, but we do know this – what happened in our city was unacceptable. Everyone should be able to enjoy a Friday night football game without fearing for their safety,” he said in a statement.

The game was overturned with Central Catholic winning 45-15 and will not be rescheduled. Saturday’s sophomore and freshman games have also been canceled, according to Central Catholic Principal Kevin Parkins.

Parkins also announced that students will gather on Tuesday morning after the long weekend to “talk to them, support them, and pray.”

On Friday, he also urged others to “value life”.

“When we take life carelessly – there is nothing more special – we must continue to fight every day to make sure our world, our country, our state and our Northwest Ohio community know how precious life is.

The police investigation is ongoing.
