Tiny cinema | Interview by Tyler Kornak


Tyler Kornak has amassed a huge online following for his horror comedy series Small cinema on their social media channels. In his anthology film, Cornack has adapted some of the best horror shorts from his social media and created new films for some of the funniest and horrifying stories.

Here’s the official synopsis Small cinema:

The Mysterious Stranger tells the twisted story of seemingly unrelated strangers whose lives are forever changed in an incredible and surprising way. As reality unfolds, each person must grapple with incredible challenges from the multiverse as they seek answers to the important questions of life, death, love, and the fate of our future.

The cast includes Tyler Rice, Philip Ursino, Sam Landers, Christina Clifford, Shelby Dash, Austin Lewis, Olivia Herman, Matt Rubano, Kyle Lewis, Matt Rascu, Kornak and Kevin Michael. Kornak has directed films based on stories by Kornak, Ryan Koch, and Bill Moreno.

LRM Online’s Gig Pato spoke with director and co-writer Tyler Kornak about this anthology film and social media series. We discussed how it started as very short online videos on social media and his efforts to expand it into a full-length anthology film. He also discussed challenges, his production team, practical effects, and his love of horror comedy.

Tyler Kornack makes his directorial debut with an indie comedy Pickpockets in 2016, he created a series of comedic one-minute vignettes on Instagram with Ryan Koch, which today has over 75,000 followers. In 2019, he directed, wrote and starred in the sci-fi thriller Butt Boy.

Small cinema is now in select theaters, available on demand on September 6th, and will then be released on Blu-ray next month on October 11th.
