Apple’s next top-tier smartphone has been unveiled alongside a slew of other new hardware, and that’s all we know about it for now.

It may seem that Apple introduced a shiny new product not so long ago iPhone 13 Probut now we got our first glimpse of its sequel at the Far Out September event, where it was described as “Apple’s most innovative Pro line yet.”

Below are the main specifications of the two new models, the iPhone 14 Pro and the iPhone 14 Pro Max. If you’re interested in learning how the Pro compares to the base model, head over to our iPhone 14 vs. iPhone 14 Pro management.

A dynamic island

One of the main features of the new iPhone 14 Pro – both figuratively and literally, given its placement at the top of the screen – is Apple’s new interpretation of the notch. It is called A dynamic islandand it looks pretty cool.

The notch no longer hangs from the top of the screen, but is completely separated into a pill shape that can change shape depending on what you’re doing; so it can expand to include different functions, such as playing music or navigating maps, and can include background tasks when you’re using other apps.

It’s a clear stylistic departure from every other previous iPhone, and even from this year’s standard iPhone 14, and watching it in action – with shapes dancing around the top of the screen as it adapts and multitasks – we’re convinced it’s going to be solid soon. a favorite among Apple fans.

Best iPhone screen?

Dynamic Island isn’t the only screen update. Thinner bezels also help make the screen larger than before, with more active area, and the specs have been updated. It will now support a scorching 2,000 nits of maximum brightness, while the new Always-On display feature is enabled with a minimum of 1Hz of adaptive refresh rate combined with intelligent dimming.

Finally, an update to the 12-megapixel sensors

The camera has also undergone significant upgrades in all areas. It will be powered by a 48-megapixel primary sensor paired with two 12-megapixel sensors (one ultra-wide, one telephoto). It looks like the main sensor will be subject to 4-in-1 pixel binning by default, but in ProRAW mode you’ll be able to use all 48 megapixels from very high resolution images. There are improvements in low-light photography with all of these sensors, with each boasting a 2-3x improvement in this area. In addition, the Cinematic shooting mode supports 4K shooting at 24 frames per second.

A16 Bionic chip

Processor

The iPhone 14 Pro has a chipset upgrade on board (something that the standard iPhone 14 models miss). The A16 Bionic built on a 4nm process and contains almost 16 billion transistors. Apple isn’t shy about claiming that it’s the fastest chipset available in a smartphone, apparently 40% faster, yet uses only a third of the power of its competitors. Its neural processing unit is capable of a whopping 17 trillion operations per second.

Price and availability

The starting price of the iPhone 14 Pro is 999 dollars (£1,099) and the iPhone 14 Pro Max starts at 1099 dollars (£1199). A pair of devices will be released on September 16and will be available for pre-order from September 9th.

It’s like a “Pro” phone – Trusted Take

While the iPhone 14 received modest upgrades, the Pro variant seems like a real step forward. The Dynamic Island notch looks fantastic, and it’s nice to see an all-new camera sensor. Hopefully the megapixel usage is more of a bonus than a problem.
