MODOK’s long-awaited debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is closer, as some are Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantum Mania Merch seems to have traced his design.
One of the quirkiest and strangest thugs in Marvel annals, MODOK recently appeared as a villain in Marvel’s Avengers the almost forgotten video game. While not a spectacular game, most fans agree that it portrayed MODOK particularly effectively.
Flash forward a few years and we have MODOK confirmed in a live action movie. The fans saw the leaked concept art a few months before had caused quite a stirand they will be still more indignant at seeing this piece of merchandise confirm this design.
There were simple answers like “he looks like a bee”, which, well, isn’t that far from what MODOK is. It’s basically a bee-stung man seated on a very small throne with a laser for a third eye.
One account says that the design ruined the character before they even saw a hint of footage or footage. This is the Internet and we love it?
MODOK, receiving a radical redesign after such a well-known comic appearance, is like reinventing the wheel. Marvel had no problem with the realism of the costumes for Mysterio, Captain America, and Doctor Strange: so why go so far away from the intentionally silly?
MODOK will debut next year when Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantum Mania Opening in theaters in February 2023 as Marvel’s first major release of the next calendar year.
