Oppo Find N2 Flip video reveals new Galaxy Z Flip 4 rival

A video of the upcoming compact foldable Oppo Find N2 Flip has leaked online, giving us a glimpse of a potential Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 competitor.

Considering that Oppo launched the original Find N in mid-December last year, it always seemed likely that the announcement of the Oppo Find N2 was imminent. The case for such a thing only got stronger with the discovery of a Weibo video (via TechGoing), showcasing Oppo’s new foldable.

However, the thing to note here is that this is not a full-sized clamshell like the original Find N, but a compact clamshell – the Oppo Find N2 Flip, if you will. If the Oppo Find N was the rival of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3, then the Oppo Find N2 Flip will obviously fight with Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4.

Oppo was according to hearsay will be working on a rival Galaxy Z Flip earlier this year, so it appears to be that product.

As for the (rather low-quality) video itself, the Find N2 Flip is housed in a bulky protective case in the video, which is likely designed to disguise the shape of the phone. Still, it’s pretty clear what it is.

Perhaps the most striking design element to be seen is the external secondary display of the Find N2 Flip. Unlike the Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Motorola Razr (2022), this external external display adopts a vertical orientation, seemingly to properly display content from the internal folding display.

A dual camera system is also under consideration, which is rumored to be a 50MP wide-format Sony IMX890 paired with an 8MP Sony IMX366 ultra-wide camera. We also see the main screen, which is rumored to be a 6.8-inch foldable E6 AMOLED.

Other rumors suggest that the N2 Flip will be powered by a Dimensity 9000 chip, which is a pretty powerful component, and that it will have a 4,300mAh battery (large for a folding clamshell) with 44W charging.

Expect an official announcement at the Oppo INNO Day 2022 event in mid-December.
