Peter Reban has an interesting film coming to Prime Video this week.

Starting Friday, September 16, the streaming service will be added Firebird to available content. Directed by Peter Rebane and written by Rebane with Tom Prior, Firebird tells about the love story of two soldiers, Sergei and Roman. It stars Tom Prior, Oleg Zahorodny, Diana Pazharskaya, Jake Thomas Henderson, Margus Prangel and Nicholas Woodson.

“Based on a true story during the Cold War, Firebird is a passionate love story set at an air force base in occupied Estonia during communist rule in the late 1970s. Sergei (Tom Prior), a soulful, young soldier who dreams of becoming an actor in Moscow, is counting the days until his military service ends. His life is turned upside down when he meets Roman (Oleg Zahorodny), a sexy, enigmatic fighter pilot who has just arrived at his base. Driven by their undeniable attraction, Sergei and Roman navigate the precarious line between love and friendship at a time when uniformed Soviet men caught having sex faced the harshest punishment. As their friendship blossoms into love, the men risk their freedom and their lives to be together in the face of an all-seeing communist regime.”
