Markets traded on a positive note during intraday trading on Thursday, tracking strong global cues. Front indices Nifty50 rose 100 points to trade above the 17,700 level and the S&P BSE The Sensex rose over 450 points to trade at 59,513.
The broader markets also displayed similar resilience, with the Nifty Midcap 100 and Nifty Smallcap 100 up as much as 1 percent.
Tech Mahindra, Asian Paints, IndusInd Bank, ICICI Bank, Infosys were the top contributors to the benchmark indices.
Nifty Bank and Nifty Auto indices are leading the sectors. However, the Nifty Metal and Nifty Realty indices were stuck in trade.
Among individual shares, shares of Art NDTV fell 5 percent for the second day in a row.
In addition, the shares of InterGlobe Aviation fell 5 percent after nearly 5 percent of the airline’s total equity changed hands in package deals. READ MORE
