The company is launching just weeks after the Inflationary Reduction Act (IRA) was passed. IRA tax credits for electric vehicles depend on domestically produced battery minerals, a largely non-existent supply chain. Ionic MT is committed to addressing this “Achilles heel” of legislation and sourcing minerals and battery materials from the US.

Ionic MT operates from its initial pilot plant and laboratory, which includes a full battery testing laboratory, wet halloysite beneficiation, and a silicon pilot furnace to convert halloysite to nano-silicon.
