Over the past few days, rumors have been swirling around the internet about Thunder Rose and whether or not she has been asked to be released from AEW. That’s what is known.
A lot is happening in AEW right now, so rumors that Thunder Rose She reportedly asked for her release without attracting the kind of attention she usually did. However, there were rumors that the former women’s world champion was unhappy with her position in the company. So much so that she reportedly sought to be released from her AEW contract.
This came two weeks after Rosa was forced to vacate her title due to injury. She was supposed to take over Tony Storm’s Everyone came out pay-per-view, but she was unable to participate in that match. AEW went the interim title route with Rosa just months after doing it to CM Punk. When Thunder is ready to return to action, she will be immediately returned to the title image. For what it’s worth, it was widely reported that Storm should have won her singles match against Thunder Rose. Instead, Storm won a fatal four-way fight.
While there was some smoke in the fire of Thunder Rosa’s release, several sources claimed that these rumors are not true. Both Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer News and Shawn Ross Sapp of Fighting reports that Rosa didn’t actually ask to be released from her AEW contract. Her husband Brian Cervantes also denied the claims on Twitter before deleting his account.
Thunder Rosa is too important for an AEW release
Another journalist stated that Rosa asked for her release during the podcast, but this has not been confirmed by anyone. Several sources have since debunked those rumors. This is good news for AEW, as the women’s division lacks main event stars. Toni Storm is succeeding and Baker needs a lot more TV time, but there aren’t many women who are as good as Rosa.
Such messages have been received over the past year Thunder Rose and Britt Baker are legitimately hot, which some believe led to her first asking to be released from AEW. However, not everyone is meant to be best friends, and the two women put on some of the best women’s matches in All Elite history. Let’s hope they can continue to do that once Rosa returns and gets her unification match against Storm. Perhaps at St AEW Full gear pay-per-view on November 19 in New Jersey.
