Which Pixel phone should I buy?

With a decent selection of Pixel phones on the market, you’d be forgiven for wondering a bit about which one is right for you. If your budget can handle it, we recommend it Pixel 7 above all, as they are the most modern and reliable models, before mentioning all the new camera features they introduce.

If all you want is an affordable Pixel phone that gives you access to the Google ecosystem without breaking the bank, then Pixel 6a is easily our pick in this category. For those in the middle who want flagship-quality features but don’t want to spend as much as the Pixel 7 line demands, you’re best off with either Pixel 6 or Pixel 6 Proboth of which are still great phones, but now significantly scaled down after being replaced.

Should I buy a Pixel or a Samsung phone?

For most people looking for a high-end Android phone, the choice usually comes down to a Pixel device or a Samsung Galaxy phone. The problem here is that beyond Art Galaxy S22 and S22 plusthe rest of Samsung’s Galaxy lineup is very different from the Pixel, so a like-for-like comparison isn’t appropriate.

It all comes down to what features you use on a daily basis. For example, the Pixel range uses Google’s Tensor chipsets to get the most out of Google’s apps, so if you’re deep into that ecosystem, we’d recommend Google’s offering over Samsung’s.

Alternatively, Galaxy S22 Ultra uses Samsung’s S Pen to offer a digital note-taking experience that simply can’t be found on Google phones. Exactly the same Z Flip 4 and Z-fold 4 use the sophisticated technology in different and unique ways that are still rumored Google Pixel Fold has not yet been released.

Should we wait for the Pixel 8?

It’s understandable to wonder if you should wait for the next flagship smartphone (from any manufacturer), but in Google’s case, you really don’t have to. First, the Pixel 7 lineup only launched last October, which means there’s a significant wait time for Google to follow up.

Plus, there’s very little left to be desired in the Pixel 7 lineup at this point, and with fairly regular feature drops from Google, the latest phones continue to improve over time.
