Cyberpunk 2077’s main story expansion, Phantom Liberty, has been officially unveiled in a short teaser. Released in 2023 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PC and Stadia (so not last-gen consoles), it expands on a specific area of Night City and introduces a new cast of characters. Johnny Silverhand is still around and Keanu Reeves is back to voice the character.
In terms of plot, not much has been revealed, although it seems that V will be working with the New United States of America (NUSA). Combined primarily with Militech, it consists of 51 states and other territories around the world. This is at odds with Arasaka, who controls the economy of the Free States. How it all fits together remains to be seen, but there are new areas to explore.
CD Projekt RED has also laid out some of its plans for future updates, including an overhaul of the police system and car-to-car combat. Cyberware is being added that looks more like cyberware, and hand-to-hand combat is being reworked as well. As previously noted, all future updates will only be available on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, PC, and Google Stadia.
