Apple’s iOS 16 coming soon: list of new features, improvements for the latest iPhone update

iOS 16, announced at the Worldwide Developer Conference event this June, will move out of public beta for official release. With the release of iOS 16, Apple is making the user interface more convenient and intelligent.

Supported iPhones: iOS 16 will be supported on a wide range of iPhones, including iPhone 8, 8 Plus, iPhone X series, iPhone XR, iPhone 11 series, iPhone 12 series, iPhone 13 series and iPhone SE 2022.

While iOS 16 will have tons of new features, here are our top 5 picks.

Reimagined lock screen: With iOS 16, you can say goodbye to the good old lock screen and customize it to your liking. Apple creates a sense of depth to the lock screen by allowing you to set photos in front of time on the lock screen. Additionally, users can change the appearance of the date and time with distinct styles and colors. To make the Apple Watch feel like an Apple Watch, Apple has added widgets to the lock screen that make it easy to get information at a glance, such as upcoming calendar events, weather, battery level, alarms, time zones , activity ring progress and more. Notifications have been redesigned to collapse from the bottom, ensuring that users have a clear view of their personalized lock screen.

Filtered Focus: In iOS 16, Focus can now connect to the lock screen, offering users the ability to pin wallpapers and lock screen widgets to a specific Focus. And thanks to Focus filters, apps like Calendar, Mail, Messages, and Safari can display only content relevant to the user’s Focus.

Edit posts: Editing or recalling a recently sent message will be possible in iOS 16. You’ll also be able to recover recently deleted messages and mark conversations as unread so you can return to them later. SharePlay is coming to Messages, allowing you to enjoy synced content like movies or songs and common playback controls while chatting in Messages.

Live text enhancements, visual search: Live Text uses the device’s intelligent system to recognize text on images in iOS, and Apple is now expanding to include video. Users can pause the video at any frame and interact with the text. Live Text also adds the ability for users to quickly convert currency, translate text, and more. Visual Look Up takes photos further by introducing a new feature that lets users tap and hold on an image object to remove it from the background and place it in apps like Messages. Visual Look Up also expands to recognize birds, insects and statues.

New tools for mail: On the iPhone, users will be able to schedule emails in advance, and will also be able to cancel the delivery of a message before it reaches the recipient’s inbox. Apple says Mail detects when a user has forgotten to include an important part of their message, such as an attachment. Users will also be able to resume a message at any day and time with Remind Later and Next suggestions that automatically remind users to follow up with an email if they haven’t received a response.

Other updates: And there are many other updates to Safari, adding shared tab groups to share your collection of websites with friends and family, allowing you to seamlessly add tabs and see what others are browsing. Apple Maps provides multi-stop routing. Dictation will bring a new experience to your device that allows you to seamlessly switch between voice and touch. Accessibility updates include a door detection feature that helps blind or visually impaired users use iPhone to navigate the last few feet to their destination.
