You’d be forgiven if you’re in the UK looking out your window right now and wondering what happened to spring. Yes, we’ve had some really bad weather lately, but there are other ways to get in the mood for spring, and not all of them are as boring as talking about the weather.

If you like your tech to reflect your mood, then you’ll probably love Apple’s latest offering – a gorgeous new iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus color that will bring a little sunshine back into your life. Accessorize in true spring style with a gorgeous new shade of buttercup yellow to brighten up those dreary British March days – and if you’re further afield, there’s no harm in a little more sun, eh?

In case you forgot (and we don’t mind), there’s more to love about the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus than their gorgeous new shade, so here’s a quick recap if you need a little push to pop a dash of spring color.

A distinctly dreamy design.

Apple has mastered the art of a phone that not only works like a dream, but also looks like a dream. Built to impress from every angle, iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus feature aerospace-grade aluminum and a Ceramic Shield front that’s not only tougher than it looks, but tougher than any other smartphone glass. In addition, it is convenient, resistant to water and dust.

But durability aside, there’s something fascinating about the sleek lines and curves of Apple’s latest lineup that’s hard to pin down, but we tried. In fact, we’ve boiled it down to how the phone feels in the hand (smooth, cool and comfortable) combined with a subtle sheen that accentuates your choice of color (whatever it is).

Already available in Midnight, Star, Blue, Purple and (PRODUCT)RED, you might be worried that the last yellow color choice will be more of an underwater yellow than a soft yellow. Fortunately, you’d be wrong. This dreamy lemon shade is more subdued than outrageous, bolder than brass, and like all things Apple, it looks downright beautiful.

If you’re more interested in brawn than beauty, the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus have a lot to offer, starting with their 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch displays (respectively).

Because Apple wants to be fair, both devices have crisp Super Retina XDR displays with OLED technology (that is, beneath their durable Ceramic Shield surfaces) and can support up to 1,200 nits of peak brightness, so you’ll never struggle to see your screen perfectly — and every A selfie looks better when you’re not squinting at the viewer, right?

A camera you can count on.

Aside from the gorgeous new hue and super smart screen, the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus also have some serious hardware under the hood, starting with the camera specs. Stepping up from the iPhone 13 to offer an advanced dual-camera system to rival many professional setups, you’ll be hard-pressed to hide your smugness at how good every picture looks.

A large 12-megapixel main sensor and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens work to let you see as much as possible, bringing a whole new perspective to your photography. And there’s an optional 12MP TrueDepth front-facing camera with autofocus. Designed to help you take stunning selfies with little effort, you’ll also find that your close-ups are sharper, more detailed and crisp even in low light thanks to the larger aperture on board.

What we particularly like about iPhone 14 devices is the Photonic Engine, which is as smart as it sounds. It works by improving low-light performance on all three cameras and keeping subtle things like color and texture intact to improve your images in ways you might not even notice your old phone didn’t.

There are also some great video features to take advantage of, including a cinematic mode in 4K at 30fps for an intuitive way to shoot short and full-length videos (so your TikTok looks better than ever). Action mode will even make sure your videos are smooth and stabilized for a more professional-looking result.

Phenomenal cosmic power.

Okay, not spacey, but high five to anyone who read that headline and thought, “Shocky living space!” But back to Apple’s A15 Bionic, the chipset that powers the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus. With a 5-core GPU, this basically means you’ll have the power for even heavy workloads right in your phone – and a smoother, more stable performance while you’re at it.

The A15 chip is also the powerhouse of the aforementioned Photonic Engine, and also ensures that you get very good battery life from your device, so it’s a hardworking little piece of tech to say the least. And with Secure Enclave built in for complete privacy and security, the mind behind this wonderful device will never be in doubt.

Grab yourself iPhone 14 or iPhone 14 Plus today in Apple’s beautiful new shade of yellow (or any color you like. No judgment!)
