Announcing Stray Reactions, a photo event for pet lovers in support of the ASPCA® – PlayStation.Blog

With the launch of Stray this July, we watched the PlayStation community fall in love with BlueTwelve Studio’s realistic feline hero. But the cat’s physics and tap-to-meow technology weren’t just for gamers – your pets loved it, too! We saw the real-life reaction on social media as cats and dogs alike ran up to the screen, wondering how this very real cat got there.

Given the excitement, we reached out to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) to see how we can turn player support of this beloved indie cat game into support for real pets in need. Along with a $25,000 donation to the organization, we’d love to create a digital photo book of your pets sharing their love of Stray.

In this regard, we are pleased to announce a new social media initiative called Stray reactions. Here’s how it works:

How to participate

Starting today and ending on September 23, 2022, players simply share photos or videos of your cat, dog or other pet reacting to or posing alongside Stray gameplay on PlayStation on Twitter or Instagram using the hashtag #StrayReactions.*

At the end of this submission window, we’ll select our favorite curious kitten videos and tail-wagging photos into a digital photo book to present to the ASPCA, along with a $25,000 donation. We’ll also include some of the posts in a feed that we’ll share on our blog and social channels.

It’s that simple! We can’t wait for your pets to play Stray with you.

If you would like to learn more about the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and their services, you can find them at aspca.org or contact information here.

*Must be a US resident 18 years of age or older. When using a mobile device to sign in, your wireless carrier’s standard rates may apply. By posting a photo or video with the #StrayReactions hashtag on Twitter or Instagram between now and September 23, you agree that Sony Interactive Entertainment LLC may use the content (including your social media username) as described in this post and otherwise way to promote the ASPCA and the #StrayReactions campaign. Posts must comply with the Instagram and Twitter terms of use (as applicable). This promotion is not affiliated with, sponsored, endorsed or administered by Instagram or Twitter.
